Women's Tennis Tops Evansville, 5-2

Evansville, Ind. - Four singles wins from the bottom of the lineup helped the Bulldogs to their seventh dual meet win of the year, as Butler scored a 5-2 decision at Evansville on Friday (March 21).

The Bulldogs notched the first point of the match in doubles play, as freshmen Natali Jaimes and Gabriella Bobrowski tallied an 8-6 win at No. 1 and seniors Tiffany McLoughlin and Michelle Hawes scored an 8-1 victory at No. 3.

Evansville picked up two points at the start of singles play with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, but the Bulldogs rallied for decisions at final four spots.

Bobrowski tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3, Jenkins added a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 4 and McLoughlin chipped in another two-set victory with a 6-0, 6-1 decision. Hawes scored the final point at No. 6, winning a hard-fought 6-3, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (11) bout.

The Bulldogs return to action on Sunday (March 30) when they take on Wright State beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Dayton, Ohio.
