Senior Paige McCracken shot a four-over-par 148 and helped Butler capture the team championship at the IPFW Fall Classic, which concluded on Tuesday (Oct. 16) at Deer Track Golf Course. The Bulldogs came from six strokes down on the final day to win the 11-team event.

McCracken carded an opening-round, one-over-par 73 to help the Bulldogs move into third place on the first day, six strokes behind leader IUPUI. She then shot a team-best 75 on the final day, and the Bulldogs rallied to win the tournament by eight strokes. Butler posted a team total of 302 in the first round and a team score of 306 in the final round for a two-day score of 608.

Three Butler players placed among the "Top 10" individuals in the meet. McCracken finished in a tie for third place, while junior Lauren Showers finished seventh with rounds of 74 and 78. Junior Lynnsey Showers tied for eighth with scores of 75 and 78.

Senior Niki Garden finished in a tie for 18 place with rounds of 80 and 77, while freshman Allison Lipps tied for 25th with scores of 83 and 76. Freshman Molly Fields, playing as a non-scoring individual, tied for 40th with scores of 79 and 84.
 

 

IUPUI jumped to the early lead in the tournament with a sizzling team score of 296 on Monday. But the Jaguars slipped to 320 on the final day and settled for second place. Kellie Marshall of IUPUI claimed medalist honors with a five-under-par 67 in the opening round and a 77 in the final round for a 36-hole score of 144.
