Frank Patano Finishes Among NCAA Division I Scoring Leaders

Butler junior Frank Patano wound up ranked among the national scoring leaders, according to the final 2007 NCAA Division I men's soccer statistics released this week. Patano finished among the "Top 10" players in the nation in both points per game and goals per game.

The Butler forward tied with Horizon League foe Michael Ferguson of Loyola for fourth in Division I in goals per game. Both players scored 15 goals in 19 matches for an average of 0.79 goals per game. O'Brian White of Connecticut wound up as the national leader with 23 total goals and a 0.96 goals per game average.

Patano also finished seventh in the nation in points per game with 33 in 19 outings for an average of 1.74 per game. In addition to his 15 goals, he added three assists for his point total, which topped the Horizon League. White also led Division I in points per game (2.21).

Butler finished with a 9-7-4 record in 2007, including a 4-2-2 mark in the Horizon League.
