Bulldogs Place 18th At Hoosier Invitational

March 30, 2008

Final Results

The Butler men's golf team wound up in 18th place at the weather-shortened adidas Hoosier Invitational hosted by Indiana University on Saturday and Sunday, March 29-30. Cold temperatures delayed the start of the tournament on Saturday and rains caused the final round to be cancelled on Sunday.

Sophomore Kyle Thomas paced the Bulldogs with a par of sub-80 rounds on the par 71 IU Championship Golf Course. He shot a 79 in the opening round and then added a 74 in the second round. His 36-hole total of 153 left him in a tie for 53rd place in the tournament.

Sophomore Isaac Mulvihill tied for 64th with rounds of 81 and 74, while junior Kevin Sasena tied for 76th with back-to-back rounds of 80. Freshman Ryan Wegeng tied for 82nd with rounds of 82 and 80, and senior Abe Mulvihill came in 87th with scores of 82 and 85.

Eastern Kentucky took the team title, while Miami (Ohio) finished runner-up. Jesse Massie captured medalist honors with a three-under-par 139 (74-65).
