For the first time in school history, Butler will play a 12-game regular season football schedule this fall. The Bulldogs will play six home contests and six away games in 2008, beginning with a trip to Albion College on Sept. 6.

Butler, coming off a 4-7 campaign in 2007, will play its home-opener on Sept. 13 against former conference foe Franklin. The two teams will be meeting for the 53rd time overall, but for the first time since 1987 when both teams were members of the Heartland Collegiate Conference. The game, set for 1 p.m. (ET) at the Butler Bowl, is the second of four straight non-league contests to open Butler's season.

The Bulldogs also have home games slated against Hanover on Sept. 20, Drake on Oct. 4, Morehead State on Oct. 25, Jacksonville on Nov. 1, and defending PFL champion Dayton on Nov. 8. The final four home games are Pioneer Football League contests.

Butler's road schedule includes Albion, Missouri S & T (formerly Missouri-Rolla) on Sept. 27, Campbell on Oct. 11, Valparaiso on Oct. 18, San Diego on Nov. 15, and Davidson on Nov. 22. Campbell (N.C.), the newest member of the PFL, is the lone first-time opponent on Butler's 2008 schedule.

Head coach Jeff Voris will begin his third season with the Bulldogs when Butler takes the field at Albion. He's increased Butler's win total in each of his first two seasons, and he helped guide the Bulldogs to a 4-0 start a year ago.
