Men's Basketball Alumni Game Rescheduled For Nov. 8

Sept. 17, 2008

The Butler men's basketball Alumni Game, originally scheduled for this Saturday (Sept. 20) as part of the Bulldogs' home football weekend, has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m., in Hinkle Fieldhouse. The switch of dates was prompted by the cancellation of the Butler-Hanover football game.

The Alumni Game will feature two teams of former Butler players. Among the players expected to return for the contest are third all-time leading scorer A. J. Graves, fifth all-time leading rebounder Mike Marshall, one of Butler's all-time assist leaders Avery Sheets and starting forward from last year's 30-4 team Drew Streicher.

The first Alumni Game was held a year ago and more than two dozen former players returned to participate, including second all-time leading scorer Darrin Fitzgerald, all-time leader in three-point field goals Bruce Horan and second all-time assist leader Tim Bowen.

This year's game will be part of a busy sports weekend at Butler. The Bulldogs will take on Dayton in a football game at the Butler Bowl, starting at 1 p.m. And later that evening, Butler will host Oakland City in an exhibition men's basketball game at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Butler-Oakland City contest is slated for 7 p.m.
