Results

Cleveland, Ohio - Senior Elizabeth Shafer continued to shine in the twilight of her collegiate career, improving on one of the top times in Butler history, and a pair of relay teams notched season-fast marks as the Bulldogs completed the first day of the Horizon League Championship on Wednesday (Feb. 20) at Busbey Natatorium.

Shafer improved on her season-best mark in the 1,000 freestyle, cutting over a second off her previous mark with an 11:03.95. Her time also tops her swim of 11:05.20 at IUPUI on Feb. 6 for the third-fastest time in school history.

The 200 free relay team of Sarah Lynne Gates, Shafer, Momo Wilson and Katie Krueger shaved a full three seconds off the team's season-best time, completing the trip in 1:42.92. The 200 medley relay squad of Gates, Leigh Weston, Shafer and Krueger, meanwhile, trimmed over five seconds of the year's top time with a 1:54.30.

The second day of the Horizon League Championship gets underway on Thursday (Feb. 21) at Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, with prelims starting at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m.
