Jason Vereb is entering his second year at Butler and his first season as an Associate Athletic Trainer after serving as an assistant during the 2006-07 season. He is the primary athletic trainer for football, and he serves as the medical claims coordinator. Vereb arrived at Butler from the University of Georgia where he spent two years earning his Masters of Science degree in exercise science.
Vereb worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of Georgia men's tennis team. During his tenure at Georgia, the program captured the 2006 ITA National Team Indoor Championship and played in the finals of the 2006 NCAA Tennis Championship.
Prior to attending the University of Georgia, Vereb spent two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. While working at Washington and Lee, his primary responsibility was to provide medical care for the men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, and men's baseball teams. During his tenure, he taught several classes within the physical education department. Vereb earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training from Indiana University in 2001. He spent the summer of 2001 as an Intern Athletic Trainer for the Indianapolis Indians baseball club.
A native hoosier, Vereb originates from LaPorte, Ind. where he graduated from LaPorte High School in 1997. He has been certified as an Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainer's Association since 2002. |
