Chris Urban, a former sports information assistant at Cleveland State University, joined the Butler staff in the summer of 2006 as the assistant sports information director.

Urban worked in the sports information office at Cleveland State for the past five years, including four years as an undergraduate student. He was Cleveland State's primary contact for baseball, men's and women's swimming, wrestling, men's and women's tennis and men's soccer. He also assisted in game operations for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, softball, golf and volleyball.

During his tenure in Cleveland, he served on the media services staff of the 2005 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball First and Second Rounds, the 2005 NWCA Cliff Keen National Wrestling Duals and the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Regional.

A pitcher on the Cleveland State baseball team (2001-03), Urban earned his B.S. degree in sport management in 2005. He was named to Who's Who Among Students in Colleges and Universities, and he received the Nate Wallack/Cleveland Browns Scholarship for Sports Information.
