Tim Mylin was one of the premier distance runners in Indiana during his four seasons as a track and cross country performer at Butler. He was the Indiana "Big State" steeplechase champ in 1981, and he set Heartland Collegiate Conference records in both the steeplechase and the 5,000 meter run that same year. He also set Butler's cross country course record, as well as Butler's four-mile track record. The gifted runner was named HCC Track Athlete of the Year in 1981 and was selected as the HCC's Most Outstanding Cross Country Runner in 1980. He was a three-time Butler track and cross country MVP, a two-time team captain, and he won eight varsity letters.
