Carl Heck was named Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities and Events at Butler University in March of 2007. He returned to his alma mater after serving as the Lead Accountant for the Traffic Safety Division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. In his current position at Butler, Heck works closely with Director of Athletics Barry Collier and Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations Thomas Crowley on athletic facility projects. He coordinates and communicates all scheduling of Butler University athletic facilities and events. A native of Terre Haute, Heck graduated from Butler in May of 2005 with a B.S. degree in finance. While attending Butler, he received the Enrique Camarena Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognizes his volunteer efforts for drug-prevention in Indiana. He was actively involved in politics as a student, and he served as the State Chairman of the Indiana Federation of College Republicans during the 2004 election. He further served on the Bush-Cheney '04 Indiana Campaign Leadership Team and on the National Board for the College Republican National Committee. During his undergraduate years at Butler, Heck also served as a manager for the men's basketball team from 2002-2005. He remained an active supporter of the program following his graduation, and he created and oversaw the Blue Team Golf Outing, an annual tournament which raises funds for the men's basketball program. Prior to his return to Butler, Heck worked for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute, where he managed a 35 million dollar budget, and for the Indiana State Department of Agriculture. Heck currently serves on the Board of Directors for C.H.A.N.C.E.S...for Indiana Youth, is a 2005 graduate of the Indiana Leadership Forum and is a member of The Columbia Club in Indianapolis. He resides in Indianapolis. |
