Mike Freeman serves as the Manager of External Operations at Butler University. Freeman, who held dual roles as Athletic Development Assistant and Director of Athletic Marketing & Promotions for the University of Indianapolis, joined the Bulldogs in December of 2006.

Freeman works closely with Director of Athletics Barry Collier and Associate Athletic Director for External Operations Don Benbow on athletic fund-raising projects. He assists with the Bulldog Club, Butler's primary athletic support organization, as well as with individual team booster clubs, and he also has duties with Butler's external athletic event organization.

For two and a half years, Freeman had responsibilities in athletic development, marketing and promotion, ticketing and corporate sponsors at Indianapolis. During his time with the Greyhounds, partnership revenue increased by more than 45%. He also assisted with the Greyhounds' television production of football and basketball games, the Junior Hound Pound and the Hound Pound Committee, the Crimson & Grey Member Drive and with the Greyhound Club, while working closely with Associate Athletic Director Matt Donovan.

His duties at Indianapolis also involved working with the WBCA Night of All-Stars during the 2005 Women's Final Four, team practices for the 2006 Men's Final Four and the 2006 NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championship.

Prior to his appointment at Indianapolis in August of 2004, Freeman served as a graduate assistant in Athletic Media Relations at Western Illinois University for two years. He began his athletic career as a student assistant in the Sports Information Office at the University of Northern Iowa, where he attended as an undergraduate. He also completed an internship with the Illinois Junior Golf Association during the summer of 2003, and he was named "Employee of the Year" following a summer baseball internship with the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League in 2001.

Freeman earned his undergraduate degree in marketing management from Northern Iowa in 2002 and his masters' degree in Sport Management from Western Illinois in 2004.

He and his wife, Melody, have two-year-old daughter, Anabelle Mae. They reside in Brownsburg.
